There is a fundamental disconnect with this post. In the US, Black is an agreed ethnic classification and a sense of identity. While I understand people not wanting to be misclassified, I find it a little offensive when the people of many nations who often come to my country or benefit from our social, financial, political and cultural influences around the world (that have benefited them for decades) to assert that being Black in the US is derogatory is at best delusional!

There is a reason for Black Pride because of the struggle and sacrafice of surviving being sold out by your Pan African brothers and sisters, building and influencing the most powerful nation in modern history and still being gracious enough want to come back help and support the very ancestors who sold you out. So stop ignoring the history and contributions of Black Americans, showing self hate and deflecting from your historical part in our suffering with modern day displaced arrogance and just say “Thank you!”
